Sometimes you just have to dance. That’s the approach search marketing agency Oneupweb took when its Barack Obama yard signs kept disappearing from the company grounds, looted by an unseen enemy of the First Amendment.

The solution the Traverse City MI firm arrived at? A 30-foot projection of a dancing Obama thrown onto the walls of its building the night before Election Day.

Online-Only Move Not So Kraft-y

Kraft Food and FamilyI was extremely disappointed last week when the latest issue of Kraft’s Food & Family magazine arrived in my mailbox.

No, not because I don’t like the publication. I love it. I was disappointed because a cover flap announced this would be the last print issue. Next issue, Food and Family becomes an online-only publication.

I’m not surprised. I spent a few years covering automotive marketing for Promo, and could see how out-of-touch the industry was with American consumers. Sure, they had some way-cool product placement deals, but GM, Chrysler and Ford really haven’t made the consumer want to buy American. more

I Voted Today… Where’s My Donut?

Hot Vote NowCome on, Krispy Kreme! I know you’re 20 miles away from my home, and my job is 20 miles in the other direction. But I voted this morning and I’m soooo hungry! In fact, I know nothing about politics, I just want that free donut!

Goodbye Twist Ties? Amazon Goes Green

Ever try to open a toy for an excited child on Christmas morning, or in the middle of a chaotic birthday party? First you rip through the seven layers of cardboard and cellophane. Then, just as you think you can free Batman or Han Solo from his corrugated prison, there are the flippin’ plastic twist tie fasteners. Dozens of them. You’re not sure who will have a tantrum first, you or the kid.

Amazon has launched Frustration Free Packaging, an initiative to go green and alleviate some of those woes. more
