A Sign of the Times

The mailers groups and other interests which fought tirelessly for 11 years for a reform law that would tie future postage increases to the rate of inflation (as determined by the Consumer Price Index) may have outsmarted themselves, big time.

Fruit Website is Berry Berry Sorry

blueberries.jpgIt’s always interesting to get an e-mail with the words “Berry Sorry” in the subject line, even if you don’t really know the sender. The e-mail arrived in my in box last night from a merchant called The Blueberry Store.

I’ve never bought anything from this company; they must have rented my e-mail address from a merchant I used the last time I sent someone a fruit basket. (Which is not that often—I could probably find the culprit if I wanted to.) more

Whoops! Dominos Delivers 11,000 Free Pizzas

If you’re going to think about a promotion, don’t think out loud like Domino’s did. Sounds like someone in its marketing department either lost a job as a result of this blunder, or was demoted all the way down to pizza delivery boy.


Someone typed in the word “bailout” as a coupon code and got a free pizza. So the coupon code hit the Internet and spread so far that Domino’s had to give away 11,000 free pies. Here’s a link.
