Go Get Your Free Comics People!
This Saturday, May 2, is Free Comic Book Day.
You know what that means? You can walk into your local comic book store and get free comics. That’s right. There’s no catch. Free Comic Book Day means you get free comics.
Pretty neat, huh?
This is without a doubt one of my favorite marketing promotions ever, and not just because I’m a card carrying geek. Want to know more? Check out the official Free Comic Book Day site, which has a nifty store locator that’s handy-dandy for finding a shop near you. Or read this piece I wrote a few years back for Direct about the holiday.
Yeah, I said holiday. For geeks, this is a high holiday. We dress the kids—and ourselves—in our finest superhero t-shirts and make a pilgrimage to our local shop. So go and check it out for yourself. But don’t take my word for it. Just ask Hugh Jackman:
