OK, it’s not a bad joke, and infection diseases are no laughing matter. But L-Com director of marketing Mary Ann Kelinfelter said the Swine Flu outbreak can teach even merchants a lesson.

The Egyptian government has called for the cull of its entire pig population, even though there have been no cases of the Swine Flu reported int he country.

What’s the takeaway? it’s very easy to overreact, Kleinfelter said this morning during her ACCM session, “How To Survive And Succeed Despite Tough Times.”

“We need to take into account the times we are in,” Kleinfelter said. “Right now for catalogers, these are not ordinary times.”

Before we make any hasty decisions regarding our businesses, we need to take a step back and think.
