GAO Report Questions IMB Benefits

The U.S. Postal Service has long been touting the Intelligent Mail barcode (IMB) as a revolutionary change — one that will expand catalogers’ ability to track individual pieces of mail and provide greater visibility into the mail stream. While many catalogers and industry experts wonder how exactly IMB will benefit them – and what preparations are involved – now the Congressional Government Accountability Office (GAO) just released a report titled, “Intelligent Mail Benefits May Not Be Achieved if Key Risks Are Not Addressed.” more

For President Obama, It Was a Matter of Trust

Why did the country choose to elect Barack Obama as President? It came down to the hardest thing in the world to earn, and the easiest thing to lose—trust.


And these days, trust isn’t something to be taken lightly, noted Mary Anne Marsh, principal, Dewey Square Group and political commentator for Fox News.


“Today in this country, nobody trusts anybody about anything,” she said during a keynote at the New England Direct Marketing Association’s annual conference in Waltham, MA on Thursday. “We don’t even trust peanut butter.”

Steve Spangler Science Having the Best Week Ever

Congratulations to Steve Spangler Science, which yesterday received the MCM Awards’ Website of the Year honors yesterday at ACCM in New Orleans (link to come). Though we like to think that it’s kind of a big deal to take home one of the major awards (at least in my mind, as the MAC Awards director, lol), Steve Spangler wasn’t there to accept the award (COO Jeff Brooks was there for the company).


But he’s got something real big going on today. It’s Science Day at Coors Field in Denver, and before the Colorado Rockies face the San Francisco Giants this afternoon, Spangler hopes to make history: A Guinness World Record for most children simultaneously doing a scientific experiment. more
