A Very Quick Tale Of Optimism……..
Hello faithful, Big Fat readers…..OOOOOO - Snap! I had to say that joke at least once! It is the Big Fat Marketing Blog you know.;)! It’s certainly the lowest hanging fruit joke that I’ve been holding in my back pocket. Sooooooo, I’ve spent the last week on a myriad of flights which ultimately landed my tired self in Singapore. Right now I’m sitting in Seoul during my eleven hour lay-over as I head back home. You’re Probably asking yourself how is this quick rant going to be anything close to optimistic about anything except a rant about how tired I am?:) Well…..it’s quite the opposite in fact!
When I arrived at the EURO RSCG offices in Singapore I was amazed at all of the hustle and bustle that was surrounding me. It was clearly an advertising agency that was running at full capacity and in high gear. This, my friends, is fantastic news. I had an opportunity to sit down with Charlie Blower - he is the MD at the Singapore office. After our discussions it was very clear that the bubble of misery that has been engulfing the ad business has begun to dissipate. I had noticed the same trend when I was leaving Atlanta. As I was leaving the building we were being inundated with new RFP’s. Folks - this is exciting news. The world is starting to turn the lights back on.
I know that we probably have a few more miles of bad country road ahead of us, but it is great to be able to write about actually seeing the world slowly coming back to life.
I just thought I’d pass along some good news as I sit here in Seoul.

I’ve noticed the same evn though I live in NYC where it hit hard. RFPs coming in here too and business is not stopping - just becoming leaner and smarter :). We’ll get there and good to hear it from you too!
