Behold the Power of Social Media: Zingers!
Last winter, I blogged about my lifelong obsession with finding Dolly Madison snack cakes.
As a child, I loved the Peanuts cartoon specials, which were always sponsored by Dolly Madison. Naturally, I assumed that these must be the best ever snacks—I mean, if you can’t trust Charlie Brown, who can you trust?
Sadly, the brand wasn’t sold in the northeast, so I never got my hot little hands on the sweets…..until now.
If you’re wondering whether social media can truly accomplish anything good, I’m here to tell you wonder no longer. Yes, it can.
My friend (and fellow blogger) Grant Johnson read my sad story and brought me a wonderful present at DMA09: a box of Zingers. Sadly, no Dolly Madison logo on the box (they’re part of Hostess now). But he assures me these are the same as the Dolly Madison cakes he grew up on.
I can’t tell you how excited the five year old inside me is to have these to eat when I watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” next week. Maybe I’ll even share a few with my kids…if they’re good.

hahaha! First off, this remind of the movie Zombieland as Woody searches for a twinky. For me, growing up it was all about the Zingers. Thanks for this flash back!

Having moved from the Northeast (home of Drakes Cakes and a hotbed of Yodels, Ring Dings, Devil Dogs and Yankee Doodles, not to mention the black and white cookie and real kaiser rolls) to the Midwest, incubator of Little Debbies and everything Archway, you don’t realize how good you’ve already got it. I wish you well with your Zingers, but let’s work out a Zinger- Ring Ding exchange.
