Season’s Greedings
It’s always weird to get an e-mail saying “You have received an e-greeting…” I immediately delete them, assuming they’re spam, and then I wonder if someone really sent me an e-mail card and will now think me rude for not acknowledging it.
I got one this morning and was about to hit delete, but then I started thinking maybe someone sent me an Easter card. What to do?
I examined the e-mail a little closer—sure looks like a legitimate Hallmark logo. Still, I didn’t want to click on any of the links to check—those spammers can be awfully clever.
Then I spied the full subject line: “You have received a greeding e-card !” Yeah, this is probably not correspondence from Hallmark.
So thank you, mystery spammer, for being so sloppy with your subject line that I don’t even have to worry about snubbing an e-card sender.
But…just in case Hallmark’s quality control standards have gone way down, and someone did actually send me a heartfelt greeding—I mean greeting—thank you, whoever you are.
