Are You “Sear”-ious?
My wife and I went to a local Sears near where we live in Connecticut to buy a vacuum cleaner. Seems simple enough, right?
Well, we bought a Hoover vacuum cleaner and after we got home and opened the box, we realized we were missing a part. The part, which our Sears associate had specifically pointed out to us in the store, was called a tool box cover.
I called Sears and a sales associate said we could exchange the vacuum for one which had the tool box cover part. Fantastic! So, my wife, daughter, and I went back to the same Sear’s and when we explained about the tool box cover missing, a sales associate said: “Oh, the new ones don’t come with that part.”
Are you serious? Or should I say “Sear”-ious?
Let’s get this straight: When we bought it, there was a tool box cover on the display vacuum we were looking at and the one the sales associate kept pointing to. But now when we attempt to exchange it, we’re told the new Hoover vacuums – at least this model – don’t come with the tool box cover. That’s great, then why are you displaying one that HAS that part!
Anyway, my wife and I returned the vacuum, got our money back, and won’t be buying appliances at Sears anytime soon!
And here’s the kicker: A few days after we RETURNED the vacuum cleaner, my wife received an email thanking her for her purchase!
You can’t make this stuff up!
